I know it's been a while since I've been on due to the upcoming holiday. But I'm back, so let's get to what's going on as of late during the past month in the NBA. With a month already passed, there have been a lot of surprises. Let's start with the Miami Heat. They have been been (in my opinion), underachieving to everyone's surprise. I thought that this was supposed to be the 'Super Team' trying to take over the East and conquer the Lakers in the Finals. They are now standing at 13-8 (3rd in the Southeast Division) and have yet to have found their stride yet. One of the oldest teams in the NBA have the best record in the East and that would be the Boston Celtics. Their big three have been dominant and with the addition of Shaq, they continue to run down the East with their experience. Another team in the East I would like to give credit to would be the New York Knicks. As a fan, I'm happy to say that even at 11-9 (2nd in the Atlantic Division), I'm glad that they are on the right track and have won 6th straight on the road. With the help from Amare, Raymond Felton and Danilio Galanari, they continue to gel much better and have been one of the most exciting young team to watch. If they continue to play at this level, I could see them taking anywhere from the 6th to the 8th playoff spot. Welcome back, Knicks. We miss ya! LeBron who??

Over in the West, the San Antonio Spurs continue to amaze me with having the best record in the NBA overall. Should this keep on, Tim Duncan could be on his way to snatching up ring #5. Hats off to the Spurs and the most dominate forward ever to grace the game. Yes, even better than Karl Malone. The Lakers have been slipping a bit, but till manages to stay on top of the Pacific Division. As for the other L.A. team, they may not be winning a lot, but they are fun to watch with their rookie Blake Griffin having highlight nights almost every game. I can see him taking Rookie of the Year honors from John Wall. But would it be fair? Blake was drafted last year. While injured and was put on the shelf all season, Griffin had that experience to see the NBA up close and personal while Wall's was focus on his greatness in college. Whether it'll be fair or not, it's going to be fun to see who'll win Rookie of the Year. Haven't looked forward to two rookies since LeBron and Carmelo was duking it out for ROY.

Next week, I'm going to talking about the Atlanta Hawks and how they've doing without the injured Joe Johnson. And I'll be going to take a look at Portland and see what could have been if Greg Oden wasn't so injury-prone. Give me your thoughts on what you think about the season by leaving your comments. Thank you for reading my blog and see you next week.
